Here's what we have in U.S Lacrosse A-A's....
John Sung will have recruited 10 U.S. Lacrosse All-Americans since he got here. He added 2 in his first year with transfers Marissa Davey (from UMBC) and Isabel Obregon (from Maryland). Megan Burker recruited 5 U.S. Lacrosse All-Americans (Mary Clare "MC" Byrne, Haley Lukefahr, Payton Beach, Meagh Graham, and Sarah Vanadia). All five will return this season. Last season's team had a total of 7 U.S. Lax A-A's (23% of the roster). The 2017-18 team will have 15 U.S. A-A's. (almost half of its roster).
As for the 2016-2017 recruiting class (incoming freshmen), Sung has eight U.S Lax A-A signees. Sung signed 4 of the DC Metro's top 28 players, 1 of Maryland's top 19 players, 1 of New Jerseys top 32 players, 1 of New York's top 58 players, and 1 of Minnesota's top 13 players. To be fair to Megan Burker, she got commitments from Mackenzie Bolt, Paige Petty, and maybe one or two others before Sung took over as head coach. John Sung was able to convince them to remain committed to Tech.
Burker signed 4 U.S Lacrosse Academic All-Americans presently on the team roster while Sung has signed two academic A-A's since coming to Tech.
Megan Burker did sign some U.S. Lax All-Americans but John Sung has signed twice as many in 15 months. I expect a majority of our future players to be U.S Lacrosse High School All-Americans in a few years. We'll probably have a few NCAA WLax All-Americans as the program improves.
